Hi everyone,I’m a new investor learning the ropes of being a midterm landlord.

However, I read some bad reviews about them. 10% service fee from landlord, plus 8% from tenants.

The biggest thing I notice on this one (just from the pictures) is the absence of electrical work (receptacles not present on some walls/kitchen, ceiling fixture with pull) which means the electrical panel is probably 60amp, and the odd gas supply repair which indicates the landlord was cutting corners. 

Just a builders risk policy if you are doing an extensive rehab on the property and then a landlord dwelling policy when the property is rented.

However, I’d like to have a space of my own before living with others again (I plan to house hack again with my next property).I’m seeking advice on how to move forward, as I need to consider things like utilities, taxes, landlord/umbrella insurance, and managing the property, especially with someone renting my garage.Specifically, I’m curious about renting out individual rooms and living on my own for a little while.

She is renting the apartment, not the entire property.It's very important for landlords to understand Landlord-Tenant rights and maintain control of the property.
