i would never tell a random person on the internet where they should live. 

It's really unfortunate that people flash their wins on internet, and then other thousands of people naturally try to replicate that.

The "retire off of real estate" crowd on the internet mostly spouts nonsense or has something to sell. 

STR internet guru's seem to be coming out of woodwork the last couple of years.

See if any of them will allow you to use their address as a virtual location on the Internet.

They want them all jammed in large apartment complexes, run by large companies, in concentrated areas, away from them.

To scale successfully you have to get past the point where your newly increased expenditures exceed your increased revenue; past the point where your ROI allows you to “break even” on your investment, and past the point where the ROI is worth the increased risk, the increased aggravation, time, and “lifestyle” change, and past the point where you can step back from “operations” and concentrate on management.  

This could allow you to concentrate your equity in one purchase by doing it in cash.
