I have been doing some research on the markets along the coast line from West Palm Beach to Miami and what I see is that crime rates in the area are fairly high especially as you get closer to Miami so being an out of state investor I am bit concern due to lack of knowledge in the area.  

Merida gets VERY hot during the summer months though, and the entire state runs for the coastline where it's cooler, creating a viable local tourist market on the oceanside to complement the snowbird season that runs from October to April..

According to CGS, the first surge of a worst-case tsunami would reach the Los Angeles coastline in only six hours.

If you buy 31 miles from a coastline (which would be the case for a beach town), you'd need to use a bank trust (fideicomiso) or a Mexican corporation to buy.There is no MLS.

Plus, since you are in the Navy, we have 800 miles of coastline!

In addition, we have more than any other state has to offer, coastlines, harbors, farmland, forests, lakes, deserts, mountains, and a good part of the nations wealth.I'm not saying we don't have issues, but a change in leadership turn California around!

I'm interested in Merida, Puerto Vallarta and its coastline north and south personally, but open to discussion on anyone's experiences and deals they may be doing in Mexico for sake of networking, information, and experience sharing.

With a coastline of almost 900 meters we’re able to create 3 or even 4 private beaches.

Aside from a very small coastline, that beautiful small country has hardly any industry or natural resources and only tourists have enough money to rent what investors buy.My first rule when it comes to international investing is that I’ll never take the additional risks of investing in another country of I don’t make significant more money than what I could make in my home country (Canada).The good news is that you’re educating yourself and doing your due diligence so you’ll be able to draw your own conclusions.
