You could also join the National Guard or Navy Reserves (or Army if you prefer)...they both offer afffordable health care (Tricare Reseerve for Navy) and the service committments are part-time (one weekend a month) which might still allow you the freedom you are looking for.

I spoke with Navy Federal Credit Union and they said there is no seasoning period for refinancing (although the young lady didn't seem to be all that knowledgable).

I lent money to the corp. to buy those houses and the corp. is supposed to reimburse me 5% of what I lended every year (to get my money back in 20 years if I am still alive...).The problem is that the corp. is of course unable to give me back money for now ; it’s not that much for me but it is for my children who carry that debt (declared to the french tax administration).

Unless the money makes sense.I dug out a 500sf basement last year 2' down then put down French drain, vapor barrier, gravel concrete.

Bob B. we installed french drains, added dirt around the foundation to push water away, added drains for gutters, and extended all downspouts away from the foundation.
