Trying to get cat smell out of a unit has caused me to rip out sub-floors before.That being said, in my community, not allowing small dogs and cats limits my rental pool too much. 

how can i contact contractors that wont try to rip you off?

I would suggest ripping out all the bushes and planting new ones.

Kurt Kwart I bought the property 3 years ago with intensions to do it myself then shortly after had to spend money on my own house ripping my roof off due to mold in the attic.

Kitchen is ripped out and builder material is damaged from a dishwasher leak.

What happens is you buy 1 or 2  it goes good first year then reality hits you find it way to hard an frustrating when you houses are broke into your air-conditioning units are ripped off your tenants don't pay etc etc...

This is not urgent, but wondering if anyone has ripped one out for something more asthetically pleasing?.

If the latter then have your lawyer send both buyer and seller a very nasty letter explaining the consequences of attempting to rip you off.If the former then you can always sue if you think you can win.
