I am originally from Smithtown, NY but am gradually making the move to White Plains, NY.

How high is the flood plain above existing grade or main floor? 

Its not far from the water (not in a flood plain luckily) and its a big area for summer attraction which should make renting a breeze due to these amenities.  

A lot of them just aren't in plain sight anymore.

As far as any compensation , plain and simple ................NO .     

Truly sick and sad. 

Should you wish to change it, have a friend take a series of pictures of you against a plain background.

You don't want to "bomb" a place and have them turn around and tell they got sick from the pesticide use. 

We owned a personal residence in a flood plain and had 3' of water in the basement once.  

You will probably get the best deals from the worst landlords (because they are bleeding money and are sick of the hassle) so call the ones with no pictures, or bad pictures, the ones that don't list the rent, have misspellings etc.
