House hacking is the BEST way to get into real estate investing and that's how I personally got started as well too.

I started investing real estate in 2022, and own a couple of doors in South Jersey.

Any advice on starting out on this in the Houston or Katy market?  

Just started using https://www.turbotenant.com/ it gives you a focal point to house documents, gives you a credit report and some other things but it's still your decision to make with the collected information. 

We'd be making more money if we rented ourselves as STR, but we're saving ~$100k in furnishing costs since Avantstay provided all of the furnishings themselves.
