Why are they insuring me at 171,000$ to rebuild the property when I can buy a new one for $71,500?

Rebuild according to the area you are in, if you can better the neighborhood, why not?

I was told I have to tear down the house and rebuild a conforming structure.

My job included removal of old siding, house wrap, repairing soffits and fascia, wrapping them, install new siding, install of new gutters, and some other misc exterior items like rebuild part of the deck, rebuild 2 door frames, and rebuild and wrap all the window frames.

How would I determine how much it will take to rebuild the home?
