I use a lock box, Wi-Fi thermostats and a security camera I can check on remotely.

I have a Nest thermostat in my short term rental cabin in North Georgia.

Its an old thermostat and we will have to replace it anyways, but I'm a big fan of Google's Nest thermostat and I was thinking it would be a nice addition to make the house a bit "trendier" versus just a standard thermostat. 

Something as basic as regularly scheduled filter replacement, programmable thermostats, solar window film, or even something more significant like incorporating solar panels.

-Change common area lighting to LED to save on electrical costs, and put plexi covers on thermostats so they don't turn them up.

So I've always loved the idea of the Nest thermostat since I pay for gas in my two family, and now that they have come out with this new cheaper "Thermostat E" I'm even more interested.

I think its also important to have a smart Thermostat.

What thermostats does everyone use?

What is a good programmable thermostat that can't be tampered with? 

They also recommend the tenants keep the thermostat no more than 20 degrees from the outside temp because they are trying to keep the home too cold.
