In the process of being kicked out of my girlfriends childhood home and her mother supporting her own parents and and house payment splitting it with her sister including lawyer fees to keep the bank at bay for as long as possible before eventually being kicked out they still found the time to help me with anything that i needed from groceries to a ride to work and asked for nothing in return.

I live in the Bay Area and never was able to jump in the market here - now it's insanely expensive.

I work with a lot of investors from the Bay Area (both commercial and residential) who are looking for a nearby, more affordable market than the Bay Area.

Seven decades of consistent Bay Area and Silicon Valley appreciation data is why it will go for more than $1.5m.

Same metro feel as LA and the Bay Area...

That said, the bay area is large enough to have a population of Atlantans who might be visiting GA anyway. 

I'm curious to know if anyone is investing in the shore towns along the Raritan Bay from say, South Amboy to the Atlantic Highlands.  

Are all the bay areas cities with rent control the same in terms of the practices. 

I decided last year to embark on a different strategy than my normal buy and hold investment strategy given that the market for buy and holds in California has become a lot more difficult where we have seen CAP rates move to less than 4 in some areas (San Francisco, Bay area) and only 6-7 in sub markets such as Sacramento and Stockton.The math has been pretty straight forward.

I invest in the Philadelphia MSA, as I had lived and invested there for a long time.Just behind SF Bay Area in GDP.
