We would like to update the electric panel (last completed in the 80's) however the contractor informed me that new rules stipulate new permits must include a hardwired connection to a Fire System.Is this true???

The property is a rowhome, partially connected on both sides.The smell is strongest on the RIGHT side of the house towards the front inside the finished basement.This is the side that has access to the outgoing waste line.I was able to determine this by opening up several access panels in the finished basement walls on both sides and smelling the air in the cavity.A neighbor (two doors to LEFT) has developed the same smell in his finished basement at the same time.

In fact generally an appraiser will have no idea of the difference as there really isn't one.Financing as well will treat your home no different then a stick build, generally there is no variation available between stick & modular appraisals, financing, or real estate agents forms and processes.This is assuming that what you are looking at is a modular and not a mobile or manufactured home.Some of the early modular's had poor designs and looked like a mobile home down to the paneling in the walls.

Installed 700 sqft of LVP from Lowes for a total of $2,250 installedInstalled 4 new cabinets in the new kitchenette for $800Painted the entire interior trim/ceilings/walls for about $500 - did this ourselvesPainted the entire exterior for about $500 - also did this ourselves Still to come: New countertops for downstairs and upstairs - $2,500 installedElectrical panel upgrade and other electrical - $3,000Fence - $4,500Front deck - $2,500 We've learned a lot from this project and I would say two major takeaways right now are:Find better deals so that you can avoid doing any of the labor yourself and focus on finding future dealsFind a better GC relationship instead of trying to half GC ourselves and half GC with a GCWe're running into some trouble with the refinance at this point due to a lot of lenders putting a pause on their rental loans for investment properties.
