I think the Canadian Market is going to continue to slow until the U.S starts to rebound, however, if you are looking to invest I would start my search out East.

On the thought of appreciation, you should be looking to hold longer than 2 years, with transfer taxes/commissions/etc you won't be sitting pretty unless the market tanks tomorrow and rebounds that quick.

I'll even claim to have a basic understanding of the reasons behind it (increased interest from investors like ourselves, individuals with negative equity waiting for the market to rebound before selling, the supposed "shadow inventory" that has STILL not been released on the market).
