It's a privilege to be here at the start of my journey.I'm a recent college graduate, but a non-traditional student (I'm actually 30-years old, and was homeless for a while in Los Angeles).

Well I am glad to see that everybody on here is a saint, or maybe you come from privilege that I can't relate to.

It's easy to lose sight of the privilege we have, and it's easy to diminish other people's lack thereof.  

As much as you may hate having a W2 job, understand the great privilege you have to be qualified to be for a job and be reading an article/post from 2023, talking about escaping the 9-5 through real estate.

I have the privilege of living with my parents.

@Matt WardDeals were getting very tough to come by in my local market.So I ventured out of state.It was easy to choose Cleveland because I previously lived there for 5 years and know the neighborhoods very well.I also had privileged knowledge of the tremendous billions of dollars in investment that has poured into the downtown development over the past 5 years.So while many data junkies on BP kept referencing the city’s “negative population growth”,I was diving in head first.

IF you are going to use the property as a rental you'll need to get a license, pay the Cities Business privilege tax, HAVE FUN dealing with L+I and don't forget to get the skinny on the increase in property taxes that has been going on due to reassessment.  

The original owner retains all the control and you get the "privilege" of paying him for it.
