Looking to get Involved!

Hi BiggerPockets Community!

It's a privilege to be here at the start of my journey.

I'm a recent college graduate, but a non-traditional student (I'm actually 30-years old, and was homeless for a while in Los Angeles). I'm currently in the deep learning phases of real estate investing, and would love to get involved here and in my local communities! 

I'm hoping to work with local investors, property managers, contractors, etc. by doing handy work, identifying deals via "bird-dogging", and getting as much experience to start my investments with low or no money down.

Through this experience, I hope to build the right team of trusted individuals that will help shape a hopeful future - never missing kid's birthdays, holidays, or first-steps. Being able to spend as much time with the people I love and focusing on what lights me up inside (nature, rock climbing, volunteering, cycling).

The niche that my girlfriend of 3-years and I feel suited for is rental property investing - more specifically - house-hacking multi-family homes using an FHA loan. We plan to follow a plan much like the one Brandon Turner has outlined in his book "The Book on Rental Property Investing".
