For us, I think the change in the withholdings rules made it so that our employers somehow under-collected tax...our income also jumped up a lot due to unexpected bonuses so it was a bad combo for this new tax code :(There is a major misconception here.

So if you lived there for 1 year and meet the unforeseen circumstances test - then you can deduct up to $125k instead of up to $250k (double if married) - but it can still be 100% of your gain.Micheal, I have seen this misconception a lot.
