Didn't spend anything except required paint touch up required from inspections.

There were a couple of drips off the sides that dried, but a little sanding and a light touch up and it looks perfect.  

We passed inspection with only some minor painting touch ups to be addressed prior to closing.

I'm happy to do some basic touch-ups.

Has anyone known a painter who recommended just doing touch up work rather than a complete repainting?

Some of it might need minor repairs or cosmetic touch ups.

I have a development and construction company and used unlicensed subs a lot of times when I know the quality of their work.With the 30k budget, it is doable for touch up and re-sand/paint projects without major changes (depends on sqft as well).

Do you have any paint left over to do the touch ups that need to be done? 

So if you are leaning towards updating a property it would be in your best interest to make sure there are no major issues hidden behind some paint touch ups. 

We original got an estimate from him to do a basic interior renovation (paint, trim touch ups, replace light fixtures, trim work, and refinish floors - no major construction).
