Look for something else to do an hour away, shopping, get your watch fixed, might check out a title company, meet an appraiser if that might be your farm area, maybe a movie.....point being, if that appointment flops it's not a total waste of time if you had other things to do.

Once abandoned and falling down buildings in Binghampton now have cupcake stores, dance studios, restaurants, art stores and breweries.Less than 10 years ago it looked like Overton Square needed to be completely demolished and now you have a new parking garage, chocolate stores, movie theatre and a dozen new restaurants including some of the best restaurants in Memphis.

I think the good news is a person with a bit of maintenance ability (at least that of an average homeowner) and some fair people skills (what you'd need to work with others in a business or other organization) can probably make it as a landlord... with the desire and some reading....Yes, you may get some light bulb requests (I have a had a tenant or two who could not change, one, go figure), and you can even find a good plumber on the leaks...But some people think of horror stories when they first consider landlording (probably more from hollywood movies than reality, but it can happen without careful screening)..As Mark Twain said, " I am an old man and have known many troubles, but most of them never happened"....
