Yes, people see the low price tag on these self-service options (there are a few more being marketed here, not going to put them on blast) and ignore CPA guidance to go with in person option and it is now coming back to haunt them.

I get it with the builders.. we saw that big time in the GFC however the deals I saw was them walking away from substantial EM deposits deep into the 6 figure range.. we did well picking up some lots from lot developers who had this happen to them..

I have found that it is quite simple to self-manage a portfolio of 30-40 short-term/interest-only loans using a combination of QuickBooks and an XL workbook (1 worksheet "tab" for each loan).

What folks should be doing is developing the understanding enabling them to build their own tools.
