NOW, the guy (licensed agent who works the recruitment side of century 21 here) said well you cant do that....

The trick there is navigating the recruiters, and landing yourself in some kind of cool job role in the service, where you can get some good skills, and not just paint stuff or load bombs. 

Maybe recruit the neighbors to put in similar calls.

Another job which I think could use a designated volunteer is recruiting and scheduling guest speakers. 

This is why there is such a large hiring, training, and recruiting mentality in the business.
