Which is why, though I am no apologist for the NAR, I think the advice newbies get on here to go find a deal on their own without an agent or realtor is often pretty irresponsible.

also be prepared for costs, I think to join NAR, WRA, and RANW (local board and MLS) cost me around $1,500 then $50/mo for MLS plus my Supra E-Key lease, so its not cheap, I belong to a different board today, costs me about $700 annual, plus $43/mo for MLS. to be my own broker.

I'm not a lawyer and I'm not sure how the courts would see it.However, I do know how NAR interprets it, and how my state's (and I would guess most others') real estate commission sees it.
