In the process of researching it, I stumbled across a city (Houston), department that fielded citizen complaints against eyesore properties, i.e. vacant, high grass, trash dumped on property, unsafe conditions ect....Anyway, you might be able to find leads by checking into the city department that condemns/handles complaints against the same type of properties in your area.Good luck

(Less then 70% LTV if value is exactly tax value) We drove out to do a drive by and appears to be a pretty good neighborhood and house looks brand new from the outside - except for a handicap ramp and the evergrowing grass and weeds.

Like a good investor, I am prepared to hold the house for the Congressionally approved 5 years and live in the house the last two years to receive favorable tax treatment should all of the above fail --praying all the while for a decent tenant who could actually take care of a freshly rehabbed house AND change filters AND cut the grass.

With the economic fundamentals maintaining an even course there are no indications of changes in Fed rates.There is a sharp decline in residential construction and unless existing inventories are cleared there cannot be scope for further growth.
