The SD was $500.We had to tear out the carpet, padding, scrap up the glued down areas of padding, even remove the tack strips in areas because they were soaked, scrub the floor, put an enzyme solution down, cover with plastic, then seal the floor with two coats of Kilz before the new carpet could go in.Plus, the normal cleaning because obviously he could not clean the appliances, etc.

If there is somebody with a bit of electrical experience doing the work, you can save a lot of money getting simple LED strips off of Amazon, versus buying lights with plastic covers.Just make sure to stick them strongly onto an inside edge, where they LED lights won't be directly visible, and it will look great.

There are three types; the original pure vinyl meaning even the backer is vinyl, the WPC backer type product(Wood Plastic Composite) which is not really a LVP but and engineered product with a 1.5mm tile glued to a rigid backer similar to outdoor deck material and the newest product Rigidcore or SPC(Stone Plastic Composite) which is an extruded material similar to the original but with a ton of limestone in the backer to give it the rigidity of WPC without the issue of WPC such as denting and being noisy unless you put a pad under it or it has one attached(don't buy cork pad go with a dense closed cell polyurethane.Original CL(click lock) is flexible and will conform to a sloped subfloor like basements, the other two don't and require prep to build up areas which you really don't want to do in a basement.

Do not throw or drop removed and use a 6-mil thick plastic sheeting to wrap it in and secure the plastic with duct tape.

If you do the heating wire you may want to upgrade that section of pipe to plastic piping which won't attract as much cold as metal pipes.
