Living in the worst unit each year and fixing it up-- the equity gain is just going to be phenomenal.

Being fairly new to land lording I felt the need to gather a bit more insight from other seasoned professional with how to proceed, but you're absolutely right. 

If anything, at least wait a year so you don't pay short-term capital gains on the sale of the property.I need to find some more deals like that here in Chicago...where in Houston was this property?
