I'm buying an old house that has unpleasant smells.

I walked in and smelled that familiar smell of funk and burned almonds. 

She was starting to have "professional tenant" written all over her and luckily we smelled it before things got to far along. 

I do agree its an uphill battle, but if it is in the lease op has a fighting chance. as I am assuming its not in the lease, my post was geared more towards that conundrum.

I will always be like an old elephant that can smell water just underneath my feet and not relay on technical analysis but I also realize not every one was born to just get lucky as much as I have.

I am battling within myself, because even though I feel I understand the concepts, I have no clue where to start.

smells shady to me, however the the fact that he wants to put as the leasse wouldn't concern me so much since would put his name and the LLC on the lease and you would take his personal social security # to run a background check either way, but the fact that he told you that he is planing to sublease it that a red flag to me.

It is tough to battle the often multiple offer situation but if you're on the beat and get a competitive offer in you can totally acquire a great place.
