Jamaica tourism really focuses on enclosed resorts.  

In addition to real estate, I also do Workforce Housing for the Chamber of Commerce so I'm very familiar with both the STR and LTR side of things as well as the tourism landscape here.

Driving traffic during non peak times might require more work but you could enlist the help of your local chamber of commerce or tourism bureau to compile a list of off season events and attractions.

The city felt like it was 100% tourism based.

With the opening of the Mayan Train in 2023, and international airport in Tulum the following year there will be an even larger shortage of rentals (official statistics show a predicted increase in tourism of 300% once the train is fully operational).  

I doubt you're losing a lot of people as I don't believe a lot of people travel with their pets on business or tourism.

It has a mix of industries that draw in travelers from all parts of the country, not just tourism.

Watrous has some agricultural services, potash mines, and some beaches/tourism.

What we do know is, it has created a lot of new jobs, new tourism and investment in certain commercial and industrial zones.

Keep in mind we have year round tourism, so vacation properties are another type of rental you might want to add to your portfolio.
