I have tried the China manufactured cabinets that come in a box to assemble on site and you have to expect issues, like delays or damages.

this keep one class from being beaten down and creating a ghetto situation.now don't get me wrong there is little INdia  China town.. little Italy its English speaking but drive on the wrong side of the road.. and a Toyota corolla  ill cost you 75 to 100k  and the permit to drive on the roads is 100k for 10 years. a 350k Ferrari is over 1 million and you see them everywhere same with Lambo's Mercedes etc. but what do they have they have education and extreme work ethic to build and manufacture things we need. 

Being that your from Chicago, you could invest in cities that aren't so far away like Detroit or Cleveland, where your 150-200k would go quite far.I am in a similar position as you (I'm in China) and I have not bought a property in the past two years that I've been abroad.

Ones made in China today probably last 15-20.
