I currently live at least an hour drive from my tenants so it would not be easy for someone to come all that way to confront me.

If some crazy passes me doing 100 mph, I don't confront the idiot when we all get to the cafe or bar up the road.

I'm confronted with people with little work experience looking to jump into something before they are ready. 

So if they HOA is out of line, is it me or the tenant who has to confront them on this issue? 

This is the best way to insulate yourself from any difficult confrontations/discussions with residents.

The are emotional, avoid confrontation, pushovers, etc.

I would much rather be a person who dives in headfirst believing I will reach the chance of becoming a rockstar and then confronting all the obstacles in my way.

Just because I've been doing this a long time doesn't mean I don't fight the same "violent confrontations" as everyone else in the business, new or not, nor does it mean that I've learned everything I need to know.
