It shouldn't be a problem to call and while I don't know the specific rules for Hawaii (probably something like a smoke detector in or next to every bedroom and a carbon monoxide detector in the house), rules regarding smoke detectors are not going to be "grandfathered in" (a term that building departments hate btw).

How many bedrooms does the property have?

Secondary egress can trip up a lot of developers, especially if you are planning bedrooms in the rear of the building which most do.

I recently purchased an investment property in Montgomery, AL—a 5-bedroom property close to a major hospital in the area.

With proper communication and giving the current tenants ample notice, I think you would be giving them plenty of time for them to make a decision that is best for them.

Curious of a few things for those that execute this strategy currently:-The city the property is in has a no more than 4 unrelated people rule, would that be an issue for me if all bedrooms were full or does the fact the basement tenants would be short or medium term save me?

She owned the property for about 12 years and although she didn’t believe in ghosts and communicated to me she never experienced anything she had guests who still would tell her they had seen the woman in the master bedroom where we had so many experiences with her.

Built in 1987, the building features four spacious units, each offering 1,012 square feet of living space with two bedrooms and one bath, and a cozy 506 square foot one-bedroom, one-bath unit.

I would get confirmation you have them.If you do you will need to cancel your bookings for a week or longer.We had these last July at a 6 bedroom cabin.We had to cancel a 4k booking and spend 2k on the heat treatment to get rid of them.
