They are not supposed to recommend but usually they will give you a few names.2) Ask some painters if they recommend anyone.

:P But he got rave reviews from the realtor and other homebuyer, which is primarily what I care about.(1) life gives you lemons, make lemonade... this is also how I found my plumbing dude, my painter, etc - the real estate gods ensure that if I've got a plumber in escrow, someone else in escrow is going to need a plumber, and so on.
