I did 8 years in the Marine Corps (got out in March 2016) and have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

As your income rises, maybe you will have a softer market to deploy your strategy of purchasing a duplex.  

However, real estate investing has always been an interest of mine and now that I'm no longer moving/deploying constantly (due to military service), I'm ready to fully pursue this endeavor. 

It is currently deployed at Lending Club making like 7% which is basically nothing on $11,000. 

I would have 150+ units if I achieved the same ratio with the capital I've deployed so far. 

I've lived in Clarksville for the last 3 years and during this current deployment I decided that instead of buying a new car (my 2001 isuzu trooper is still kicking!)
