My brother qualifies for the coveted VA loan and we've learned that he can purchase up to a 4-plex as long as he occupies one of the units for 6 months. 

Disputes seem to come up with expected use and when someone wants to sell.For example - brothers A, B, and C went in on the investment but Brother D and E didn't. 

When I asked “why” he simply replied; “You didn’t thank me, so I took it back.”From that day forward, I was always the first of my siblings to say, “Dad, thanks for taking us to Dairy Queen, dropping us at the movie theater, taking us to football practice, and thanks for not getting angry when we were teaching our youngest brother how to drown in the bathtub.”  

Notable examples of folks being burned buying company stock at a discount include, but limited to, Enron, Worldcom, Lehman Brothers, GM and a whole host of other companies.Having worked in finance for a long time, I can tell you that no company is doing you a favor by letting you buy their stock (discounted or otherwise).

Then I teamed up with my brother and a friend, forming an LLC and getting another property a few doors down in mid 2017.

The home is more for my brother who is looking to go to school there this fall.
