Purchased a second home and took a chance trying to rent it occasionally as a VR.  

Unless you're running it solely as a business a VR will under produce.

My VR’s give me fantastic returns 99.9999% of the time.

They get you pumped on fear-porn to then drive to buy assorted junk not needed, will not use, but it itches that fear-porn scratch.

I'm not a CPA, but you can most certainly stay at you're VR and keep it classified as an investment rather than a second home.  

I am a local Clarksville real estate investor and also have a V/R in the Gatlinburg area.

My VR's In G-Burg and the Emerald Coast have bounced back strongly, we really just had a dip in March and April (and some of May in FL due to the STR ban we had).
