New guy from Portland,Maine
Hello all,
My name is Eric Grant and I'm originally from Portland Maine though I currently reside in a small city that goes by the name of Biddeford. The city that I live in is part of the coastal/southern Maine community. I am a novice within the realm of real estate investing. I purchased my own home 2 years ago this month and over the last 9 or so months I've become interested in investing. Since my interests were peaked in early 2014 I've read numerous books and listened to a ton of BP podcasts and various other audiobooks, seminars etc. I quit my job and went back to school to study business with a focus in finance. I haven't really gotten into the forums here as of yet, I've been waiting to acquire a little bit of knowledge before I jumped in. So, here I am. My intentions are, along with my fiancee, to invest mainly in 3-4 plex multis initially to obtain a few cash flowing properties before attempting any rehabs (there are some potential properties of interest in the latter). I watched a seminar held by Daniel beit Or on some interesting ways to expedite the investment process, such as alternating purchases each year. For example, buying a rental the first year, then buying a flip the second year to gain capital for the purchase of the next rental and so on. My initial goal is to invest here in southern Maine and see where it all takes me. We have money to invest but we're trying to gain the necessary knowledge to know where to invest that money. I recently listened to a BP podcast on recognizing where our advantages are and I have to say that I am VERY lucky in that regard. I have a few advantages that many or even most people do not have and for that I'm grateful. I just need to know how to take advantage of those....advantages. Anyway, I'll keep this short as to not bore on my very first post. Thank you all in advance, and thank you Mr. Dorkin for creating this outlet.
V/R,
Eric and Cassandra Grant
