Well, modular homes are built to a specification and receive stickers/certifications that are posted inside the property (similar to a mobile).

(The reason given by the City is that water heaters and HVAC systems have been "stickered" by those companies without actually being inspected or brought up to code or those companies have done work without pulling the proper permits.)  

My insurance company required a few items: depth stickers at all 4 sides, and life preservers. 

I would also make sure they pull permits as it is your only protection to determine the work was completed correctly and when you eventually sell the place the buyer's inspector is going to look for a sticker on your box.Depending on the type of wiring in your house grounding the outlets could be a big project as it may require a re-wire....

Lastly, I'm in sticker shock from the umbrella insurance quote I got from our State Farm rep (we've had everything...home/5 cars/son's renters) under SF for over 30 years...the $1m policy is over $1100 per year additional to what we already have.
