There is so much to see and do there.Murrells Inlet has many great seafood restaurants! 

Lots of leg work, calls and emails, but if you can find a few deals that could get you started with enough capital to get into your first deal on your own.

Forgot to mention I review about 1,000 STNL properties a week for clients around the country so know just a little bit about the space......... : )Whoever you work with make sure they are experienced and know what they are doing.

I don't hear too many investor doing ground up multi-family for house hacking in the area, so this is definitely interesting.

I went in a different direction so no info to offer here.

Not all lenders are experienced with investors using VA loans, so it is worth reaching out to local investor-friendly mortgage brokers or getting referrals from other veterans who have bought in the area.
