Many years ago now, I lived in a wood and stone "cottage" when I worked in Europe which was over 300 yrs in age.Conversely, there are several 16 - 30 unit apartment buildings - some of which have been turned into condominiums - around here which were cheaply and poorly constructed in the 1970s and 1980s and have received minimal maintenance since -  these are in dreadful condition.Wood framed is not an issue itself: the quality of the initial construction and the subsequent maintenance are the principal factors.
