Currently I've been listening to podcast from BP, reading books, set a budget to save money for our first project for the coming year and just found a nearby REIA which my first meeting will be beginning in January.I look forward to getting involved in several discussions and to bounce ideas off you all.

@Joel Owens,GA allows for criminal charges for a bounced check in addition to the civil remedies available.As for the lien, it's possible that could work or at least work well enough to get them to cough up the $500.

After the conversation ask if they mind if you bounce ideas off of them OCCASIONALLY, take their name and email, and followup with a thank you note, handwritten to their office.

I think there's a benefit for a new investor to have at least someone to bounce ideas off of and to help mitigate the risks (half the capital and half the risk of loss on a flip or something).

Once he's there and if the check bounces, you could spend a year trying to get him out.

Which I believe is the only have to fight Ignorance, Procrastination and bounce back from failure.

Obviously, I made some terrible mistakes that cost me dearly for the next few years but I'm bouncing back.
