I've grown up around real estate my entire life (my dad is a general contractor), and I found my personal interest in real estate through work I've done at various internships while at law school.

You could always have someone else co sign but that has its own issues.Your best bet is to do great in school, minimize student debt, and work an internship or two within your field while in school.

Real Estate Classes at Community College???

Signing up for the courses and taking them is my way of getting into this for real. Also, I see that one of the courses you can elect to take after you have taken some intro classes is a paid, supervised internship course where you work with local real estate people (either at an office, with loan documents etc)...so that would provide me with good contacts.I am going to continue saving money and enrollment for those classes being next month.

Three things you do not want to happen are (1) forced to sell below market because you have to be at your internship halfway across the country on July 1 no matter what, or (2) have your ownership of the house influence how you fill out your match list or (3) be forced to live a year or more away from your wife because of the investment.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and it looks like there's a lot of people that know a lot about real estate, so I figured I'd give this a try...I'm a junior in college, and I'm looking for a summer internship in commercial real estate investing and development.
