Are you relying on online listings, or are you tapping into other resources?

There are plenty of online resources and BP videos on deal analysis and financing, which are great starting points.

I'm in the knowledge gathering phase - more time I spend here in BP and other online sources, more I am realising there is a lot more to this than simply buying something off of redfin and renting out

I'm not sure why you are so bothered by someone sharing their experience online. 

More and more I see buyers look online, drive out to the house, and then while sitting in front of the house, CALL. 

These firms with large online presences use fear mongering techniques to sell services without ever fully explaining how their entity structures actually benefit the client.

If you want to do it yourself manually know that preforeclosures in MO  are initiated via publishing notices so find where they are posted (which online publications ) and extract the lead from them, confirm address by tax payments/appraiser and  skiptrace.

It sounds like a good opportunity and I want to pull the trigger but I wanted to get some reviews since the program is a high ticket of $15K I couldn't find much online about this program or Brian Grimes.
