The idea of 'grandfathering' is when the City/State/County change something around you, not you buying into something that was done incorrectly in the first place...whether you knew or not the reality is you should have found out during your DD.

Many pushing land trusts went further, incorrectly claiming that utilizing a land trust for ownership of a property would not trigger the due on sale clause in mortgage notes if the land trust itself was transferred (sold), and therefore mortgage assumptions and subject to sales wouldn’t have the threat of mortgage note acceleration hanging over the transaction.

In 2021,I was doing a backdoor IRA for the first time and incorrectly did a re-characterization for $6000 instead of conversion,I realized the mistake and corrected if after few days, in the mean time the value has gone down to $5779,I did not have any gains, now i got a 1099-R for my Roth IRA for the incorrect conversion?
