It seems like the attractiveness of buying half a duplex depends on the perception of your area.

We are a democratic republic and a capitalist society.

As a society we find it totally acceptable that millions and millions of people are spending tens of thousands of dollars to further their education, even though they may never actually use that education in their working life.

I see you live in Neptune Beach, FL with almost 97% white and only 1.7% black; sure thats just a coincidence but this may be influencing greatly your perception and ideas of the world or apparent inability to comprehend his plight.

Such a society can not survive.

We are becoming a renters nation and that is not good for society.

Items 1 and 2 have either cash flow or perception issues.
