Landlording on Auto Pilot by Mike Butler was a great resource for me, but I don't believe it will completely cover you for a market like MA.

I do not know anything about landlording or managing real estate or tenants so I thought it would be a good idea to learn :-) That being said, does anybody have any experience or preference on reading either Brandon Turner's The Book on Managing Rental Properties and/or Mike Butler's Landlording On Autopilot?

I thought I'd add my two cents:46219 - The crown jewel of this zip code is Irvington which is where Butler University was founded prior to moving further North.

Like I mentioned above - stay near the median house value per the MSA (It's about $130-$140) I like around $100-$130K in generalJust outside the loop to the west, east, and south seem to be good (North too expensive) just inside can be OK, Beech Grove a bit spot, my best property is in BG though, and stay away from anything near 38th st, even near Butler it's bad.
