I have always been a animal person but I have had to implement a no dog policy cause my insurance won't allow so many different breeds so have found just easier to not allow them.

Just another note, if you do accept dogs, we require a minimum of $100K in renters insurance.... also, check with your insurance company to verify which breeds are accepted.

I typically do $125 non-refundable or $200-250 refundable - but determine what fits best in your market and go with it.Mandating a separate insurance policy is probably overkill unless they have a breed that is specifically excluded by your own policy.
