You might make a reasonable argument, if you were going to issue currency based on standard, that that standard should be a resource that can be depleted and/or renewed, such that the circulation of fiat at any time was dependent upon the health of that resource.

Jason, it is an alcove studio in Battery Park City (so a doorman building) and while there have been minor repairs (replacing broken appliances, spot repairs to the parquet floors), as far as I can tell the floor, bath and kitchen are all 80s originals beyond those small updates.

Depending on the system, (and what you're willing to pay for) they may even dig into the drain field to see if it is saturated.The county health department will have records on the locations, sizes, and capacities of the tanks, diversion box, and drain fields, including an area delineated as a replacement drain field(s).
