We really have not solved the problem at all and have in fact made it worse.The government-controlled financial institutions that mess up the mortgage market are still there, so the potential for irresponsible lending in the future is still intact.Similarly, as I have mentioned before, we have transferred debt from individuals to the collective and not solved that problem either.We spend about 17% of our income on health care.

Ironically, the beginnings of this can be seen in the Universal Healthcare Program currently being proposed, which would cut $500 BILLION of Medicare entitlement spending, albeit to create another entitlement.
