Although I still have some residual SDIRA note investments, going forward everything is allocated to completely passive stock and bond index funds with Vanguard.Everything in taxable entities is real estate or note related.

I'd say for most people the best investment is still YOURSELF.. get higher education, better career path for higher earning potential etc.... position yourself in the most lucrative career you can think of and you'd love to do. make that your main hussle (that could be RE among all things)... then vertically expand your business from your main hussel and put the residual income into passive assets like stocks and passive RE e.g.

Sure i didn't get the full amount upfront but 11k in the pocket and a little residual income for a year is a lot better than nothing!

And so I wonder if learning TWO (storage AND construction) new very different skill sets simultaneously is the best way to break into the world of residual income? 

But reading in between the lines, landlording is not your bag so you will need property management, but I think they larger issues are that there is residual maintenance that you need to do on the units and that is what will keep some of the calls away.

When water is shut off there is residual water in the lines to drain.As mentioned the old turn shutoffs leak as people over tighten them and open to much.

I understand now that rental properties will give you residual income monthly, but will build equity over time as your renters pay your mortgage.
