If you want to quit your job, I'd at least be committed to a single path, and not just try to figure it out once you've deliberately put yourself into a stressful financial situation. 

If you can get a long term commitment, cool, otherwise be cautious.

When I transitioned from single family residential to commercial real estate, I made a commitment to my family to stay in the multifamily arena for the rest of my life.
