Los Angeles is also LA city vs county vs surrounding area...a bunch of urban sprawl with not much undeveloped land in between (besides urban infill) ...like compare investing in LA to investing in San bernardino or some other inland satellite city of LAA lot of people don't realize how close all these overlapping cities are to LA-- from Santa Barbara down to San Diego there's ton's of cities to invest in.

It really depends on the MLS system, since there are probably 1000 scattered across the US, rarely do they overlap completely in terms of features or how your local laws/real estate commission govern what can/cant be done.
