I live in New Orleans, but I have a friend in Muncie (carpenter/property manager) so, since purchasing the two properties I've been up a few times.

I'm in New Orleans, LA and have purchased a couple rental properties.  

Hats off to you that you have found properties that are mapped into the high risk but shouldn't be, on the flip side I see many properties that should be in high-risk flood zones but are mapped out because of political pressures (most of Houston, most of Sacramento, most of Virginia Beach, and New Orleans), if you are buying properties in these areas really consider the risk whether or not the requirement because property is in a high-risk flood zone.

I attenteded the course in New Orleans last night.

There are also a lot of exceptions like in New Orleans where it is very common to have a double, or duplexes that can run up to $1M.

I think Houston could even bounce back quicker than even New Orleans.

Has anyone purchased any investment property from a Jefferson Parish or Orleans Parish auction in Louisiana?
