If you really need the cabinetry space (or if there is ductwork, etc) you could still have a short bulkhead from the ceiling (making it a pass through).As for the bathroom in the title ... aren't most bathrooms enclosed .. at least in North America.

Although I agree that the price that was quoted by the OP is high, the comments above mine mentioning that ignore the ductwork and return issues involved in splitting a forced air central heating system into per unit heating systems.

To give some context, what I'm needing done is as follows: roof repair, 3-5 floor joists replaced or "sistered", surface mold remediation, 3 bathrooms remodeled, hardwoods sanded/buffed/finished, exterior and interior paint, drywall repair, granite countertops and new appliances in kitchen, new HVAC and ductwork, branches cut away from roof, gable vent repair, insulation.
